• 6–12 weeks: 4 meals per day — young puppies can't hold enough in one sitting and need a steady supply of energy
• 3–6 months: 3 meals per day — as the stomach grows and growth rate steadies
• 6 months to 1 year: 2 meals per day is fine for most breeds

Why Not Just Once a Day?

Once-daily feeding in puppies creates problems:
